4th of July Parade & Festivities

With the 4th of July falling on Sunday this year, the parade will start later than usual. This year's theme is "Land of the Free, Home of the Brave."
12th & Pacific: 12:30pm - Parade
Firework Show (Hood River Lions) on the Waterfront @ dusk (10pm)
Grand marshals will include five WWII women veterans (names will be released later.) We will also have the Pendleton Round-Up Mounted Band!
This year float participants are asked to forego the distribution of candy, as it has become a distraction and a safety hazard to the parade. Please donate the money that would have been spent on candy to a charitable organization such as the Hood River Heroes Club or the Lions Fireworks Fund!
Parade participants are encouraged to decorate their entry in patriotic colors -- at the very least the American Flag -- and incorporate the theme if possible. Participants should be lined up on Pacific Ave. by 11am on Sunday, July 4th. Enter the parade route at Elliot and 12th Streets next to Nelson Tire.

Harness the Healing Power of Wind & Water
Kiteboarding 4 Cancer is an action sport fundraiser to support local and regional advocacy, prevention, and survivorship programs in the battle to find a cure. Kiteboarders raise donations for the cause, then race in a 6-hour Kite Derby endurance race amongst other freestyle kiteboarding event, a Standup Paddle endurance race, and relay races on the mighty Columbia River.
Proceeds benefit KB4C's Survivorship Camps, Hood River's The Next Door Inc., Children's Healing Art Project in Seattle, and Child Life at Children's Hospital Seattle
